Sports blogger visited the studio to chat with Jonny this morning about several topics to do with the London Games. He came bearing shocking news that Caribbean sprinter Kim Collins, one of the gold medal hopefuls, dropped out of the team because he didn't want to stay away from his wife. Kim Collins said, “even men in prison get to visit their wives.” All seven runners that came from St Kitts were scheduled to run but Kim Collins was the one to watch, he was even the flag bearer for the Caribbean team.
An update on Trinidad's Lalonde Gordon stated he won bronze for the 400m with Grenada's Kieran James winning the 1st ever gold medal for his country.
In discussion about the epic 100m final that happened last Sunday evening Jonny and Jermaine laughed about Usain Bolt's celebrations with the Swedish handball team in a nightclub.
The blogger said about Yohan Blake, “Blake- The Beast- will push him a bit harder” in the 200m final.
Jermaine has lived in Norway for two years now and was lucky enough to visit the Olympic park to watch Norway vs. South Korea draw 29-29.
When Jonny asked about Jermaine's first impression of the park Jermaine replied, “I was amazed. I thought this is fantastic. There is a feeling of wonder with the volunteers cracking jokes with the public and smiling away. There are amazing structures around the park too. Its extraordinary.”
With the 4x100m and 4x400m relays to come Jermaine had hope for Great Britain saying, “we won't drop the baton, we'll get it round.”
