HMS Aldenham was sunk by a naval mine in the Adriatic Sea off Pag Island on 14 December 1944. Each year the Aldenham Branch of the Royal Naval Association hold a service of Remembrance at St John the Baptist Church, Aldenham on the Sunday nearest to that date.
In the church there is a Role of Honour, a stained glass window depicting HMS Aldenham and a White Ensign. The Roll of Honour and the White Ensign have been recently moved to a position by the stained glass window. The service this year on Sunday 15 December will be a re-dedication.
