What is your favourite place in West Herts and why?
The city centre of St Albans is great. There is nothing better than a stroll down the market, stopping maybe for a pint or a walk in Verulamium Park where the view across to the Abbey/Cathedral is very fine. And it is also great to spend a little quiet time inside the Abbey especially when the choir are singing. I have climbed up the tower there and also the Clock Tower just up the road
What would be your ideal day in West Herts?
Apart from doing my show, a country walk starting in one of the villages, or just a drive around the county. I have recently visted Butterfly World which was great and also the Highland Gathering in Harpenden which is a great family day out. Or again St Albans itself which has so much fascinating history there is always something to discover.
What is was the best moment of your life so far?
Driving a steam train along the Swanage railway was great fun and I have also had some very enjoyable holidays including a trip to Canada a few years ago. Apart from that friends and family are important. As I love anything to do with radio it was great to be given my own show on Radio Verulam.
How did you end up on Radio Verulam?
I have gained a lot of experience through my work in hospital radio so I sent a demo tape of my work to Radio Verulam. They were obviously pleased with it so I was offered the drivetime show which I presented for two years from 2007.
What’s your favourite piece of music?
It varies but I love anything by Marvin Gaye, Elton John, Ian Dury, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan and Beethoven.
If you could be another Radio Verulam presenter, who would it be and why?
I hear Dereck Staines has a fantastic record collection!
