Should Children Play Contact Rugby?.

Rugby union and rugby league are the most commonly played collision sports in schools in England. Rugby injury in children is frequent and a significant cause of emergency hospital attendance. Around 20% of children injured whilst playing rugby have been found to have required time off school away from studies. Should we let children play contact rugby at all?

We talk to Professor Allyson Pollock, Tim Simpson who captained England 19 times, Oxford Rugby blue, Will Wilson, women’s rugby coach, Gavin Lendon and parent Kathleen Ball (whose son received a concussion injury whilst playing the game).
