Radio Verulam’s women presenters are taking over the station all day on Wednesday 8 March to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Between the hours of 6am and 10pm, all presenters, guests and vocalists on the air will be female. You can tune in on 92.6FM locally and via the website

Features will include interviews with the Women’s Equality Party, reports from the women’s marches on January 21st and a guest appearance from local author Jane Turley.

The schedule is as follows:
06:00-09:00 – Kerry Cobb with an extended Good Morning St Albans, including an the interview with Maltese artists Josette Fenech
10:00-11:00 – Denise Parsons with a special edition of the Parsons Knows Local Music
11:00-12:00 – Outspoken with Pat Newland, including the interviews with the WEP, Women’s March London organisers and local author Jane Turley.
12:00-13:00 – Eleanor Smith
13:00-14:00 – Rosie MacLeod with EU Hour, taking a look at what different female voices are saying about the EU and Brexit
14:00-15:00 – a special English language edition of Bouche a Oreille, with Aline Bavister and Elise Lines looking at 2 key events that have marked women’s history in France: voting rights and abortion rights
15:00-16:00 – Klaudia Staniszewska

19:00-20:00 – Amanda Yorwerth with a special edition of Environment Matters, featuring an interview with the feminist environmentalist Wangari Maathai.
