We’re really proud that we just won a Silver Award in the Best Sports Show category at the National Community Radio Awards.
The show broadcasting live coverage of St Albans City’s Emirates FA Cup fixture against Carlisle United last year, was presented and produced by Jonny Seabrook and featured presenters Kerry Cobb and Ian Rogers on reporting duties, with a technical team of Paul Anderson and Matt Jones supporting and Paul Hutton co-commentating with Jonny.
The judges praised the quality of the show presentation, saying the high level of enthusiasm and excitement made the listeners feel part of the event.
The show was shortlisted along with Sports programmes from Wycombe Sound, Switch Radio in Birmingham, Radio Cardiff and Spark FM from Sunderland.
Jonny Seabrook and Clive Glover attended the awards in Bristol on Saturday 23rd September.
Clive Glover, Radio Verulam founder, said “This is a great achievement and really showcased some of the great radio being made in St Albans to the rest of the national radio industry. There were over 350 nominations for the CRA Awards this year so receiving an award is really special to us all!”
Radio Verulam will be out in force during the St Albans Food and Drink festival, broadcasting live from the Beer Festival, the Feastival in St Peter’s Street and the Awards Ceremony from Sopwell House.
