We’re looking for contributors to help post on social media for our programmes and events. This could be in your own home, in the studio during a show, or maybe at one of our outside broadcasts. An understanding of social media is required, but full guidance will be offered.

We need help to:

  • Post editorial content to our social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn) in line with our guidelines and keeping our audiences at the heart of your work
  • Engage and interact with our communities across social platforms
  • Create social content or identify opportunities where bespoke content would be advantageous
  • Provide feedback on performance and engagement of feature content on social media platforms
  • Ensure that all content or language published to our social media platforms adheres to our editorial guidelines
  • Work with presenters and producers before, during and after the broadcast 
  • Ensure that through the delivery of your content, Mix 92.6 remains an accessible, inclusive and diverse station representative of the communities the station serves

 

 

Typical time needed : 2 to 4 hours most weeks

Essential skills :

Passion for social media with an understanding of multiple new social platforms as well as a thorough understanding Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn
A positive, enthusiastic attitude
Strong communication skills
A clear, fluent writing style and an ability to produce strong headlines, summaries and promotional texts
The ability to take ownership and accountability
Demonstrated knowledge or interest in digital trends in media, entertainment, and emerging technologies
Computer skills including familiarity with all MS Office applications
Sound editorial judgement

Ideally you’d have these skills but we can train you :

Experience producing content for the web or social media
Using Canva
Strong attention to detail and an ability to work within established deadlines
Sound knowledge of social media best practices and the social media landscape
Curiosity and enthusiasm about the digital media space
BS/BA/post-grad or university student in journalism or an unrelated degree with equivalent working experience
