We are proud to announce that Radio Verulam has been recognised and accredited for its volunteer management by Communities 1st, the membership organisation dedicated to supporting the Voluntary, Community, Faith, CIC, Social Enterprises and small to medium sized Businesses based or working in the districts of St Albans and Hertsmere.
The station and its team was awarded the Six-Point Promise Certificate in volunteer management by Communities 1st for its work in reviewing and documenting all its volunteering recruitment, management and training policies and creating formal role descriptions for key volunteer positions.
This gives the station an excellent basis for working with the 100 or so current volunteers and especially with future applicants.
Having passed with flying colours, Radio Verulam’s Operations Manager Leona Fensome was justifiably proud.
“We began working on this in August last year. It was a lot of hard work, but incredibly worth it. To be accredited as a volunteer organisation in Hertfordshire is just amazing. A big Thank You to our brilliant team who helped in the process by contributing and reviewing documentation and systems.”
Chairman Nick Hazell was also thrilled. “What Leona and the team have done is nothing short of fantastic. It’s a huge honour and so rewarding to be recognised for the work we do to help support the community.”
